(Verse 1)
Poets, politricks and the propaganda (3x)
Notice all the sick modus operandi
Bogus power trips written memorandums
Totally opposite I can't understand 'em
They think in only black and white like a giant panda provoking abolishing trashing all the land up
We can't sink into the abyss of hate and all this slander
Woke as we calling it while they gerrymander
A smoke and alcoholic extravaganza
On TV watching it as they just lie on camera
Artificial intelligence with facial scanners with most of these people having delusions of grandeur
(Hook)
Poets, politricks and their propaganda
They don't want us to live in peace I won't be controlled by the beast
Poets, politricks and their propaganda
Why can't all good people live free must maintain my right to be me
Poets, politricks and their propaganda hey
They don't want us to live in peace I won't be controlled by the beast
Poets, politricks and their propaganda yo
Why can't all good people live free must maintain my right to be me
(Verse 2)
Poets, politricks and their propaganda
Voters see through all of it they’re awful planners
Low key we have unity it's time to stand up
Flowing we gotta spit it nonstop with grammar
The civics in society are just log jammers
it slowly creeps inside of me I start to ramble
Then parakeet their echo chamber psycho-babble no
A poet like Langston Hughes and Alan Ginsberg
Maya Angelou and Jack Kerouac word benders
Mutabaruka, Saul Williams in stanza
Ojenke and Kamau Daaaood them real don daddas
They stimulate my mind medulla oblongata
And innovate through time get closer to Ananda
But the corporate pollution hurts our mother Gaia
Government solution burn a hotter fire like Fela Kuti said no enemy for water
(Hook)
Poets, politricks and their propaganda
They don't want us to live in peace I won't be controlled by the beast
Poets, politricks and their propaganda
Why can't all good people live free must maintain my right to be me
Poets, politricks and their propaganda hey
They don't want us to live in peace I won't be controlled by the beast
Poets, politricks and their propaganda yo
Why can't all good people live free must maintain my right to be me

about
As the world found itself locked down because of COVID-19, Freshman Woes and Myka 9 released their first collaboration, "Solitude." Given what was going on in the world then, the timing and message of that song couldn't have been more poignant. It eventually landed on Freshman Woes' debut album, THANK YOU RAP GODS, and remains a snapshot of our lives during the pandemic. Now, they’ve once again teamed up to document the state of the day. Their new single, "Poets, Politricks & Propaganda" examines the political climate of the 2020’s and challenges artists to consider the roles they play in the discourse.
For the first time, "Poets, Politricks & Propaganda" is available for purchase on physical formats - vinyl & cassette. Both contain an exclusive bonus song "The Language of Sound” that will only be offered here.
